One Lap of the Web: Diesels, Deadmau5, Excalibur and Excelsior!
Mon, 03 Feb 2014-- It's the 50th anniversary of Excalibur, the company with fine craftsmen who keep the neoclassical motoring dream alive, or in some vaguely zombielike semblance thereof. And while the Excalibur's retro vibes arose from the mausoleum of the Mercedes-Benz SSK, Hemmings has discovered Brooks Stevens's other neoclassic: the Excalibur 35X, meant to look like a Bugatti Type 35. Just 27 were built in Italy on the chassis of Opel Commodores, fitted with inline-sixes.
Audi TT Sportback concept – it’s a 5-door TT: Paris 2014
Thu, 02 Oct 2014Audi TT Sportback concept – it’s a 5-door TT Audi has long been the master of the niche, so it’s no real surprise they’re looking for ways to ‘extend’ the Audi TT in to a series of new niche models. The latest take is this, theĀ Audi TT Sportback concept, which has arrived at the Paris Motor Show as a big brother to the TT Coupe, with an extra pair of doors and an extra 290mm in length. Audi has also played with the look of the TT Sportback, with a new hexagonal grill, new headlights and a new bumper up front and the new tail lights and smaller back window give the TT Sportback an individual look (well, as individual as an Audi ever gets).
Cadillac CTS Coupe (2010) first pictures
Mon, 23 Nov 2009This is the new Cadillac CTS Coupe, a sleek two-door Caddy that will join the CTS line-up alongside the saloon and Sport Wagon estate when US sales start in spring 2010, and take on BMW's 3-series, Audi's A5 and Infiniti's G37 Coupe. It does indeed look like the concept, right down to the twin central exhausts and hidden touch-pad door handles. Yes, there have been some minor tweaks to the front and rear lights and bumpers since we saw the show car at Detroit in 2008, but the overall appearance is pretty similar.
