The Britalian Job: MINI remakes the Italian Job for London 2012Tue, 12 Jun 2012MINI has done a remake of the Italian Job – dubbed the ‘Britalian Job – to celebrate the London 2012 Olympics. MINI always turns up interesting promo videos (not always good, but always interesting) so with BMW sponsoring the London 2012 Olympics it’s no surprise they’ve had their camcorders out. The result is something MINI are calling the ‘Britalian Job’, an homage to the classic 1960s Italian Job with the original Mini and starring Michael Caine and Noel Coward (and Benny Hill), although in truth it’s more like an homage to the later version with Charlize Theron. Lexus LS TMG Edition uncoveredWed, 21 Sep 2011Lexus LS TMG Edition We’re starting to think that Lexus has finally woken up to the fact that having some properly good performance cars in their range is a good idea. And the latest indication of that new direction is the very warm super saloon that is the Lexus LS TMG Edition, spotted lurking in a garage near the Nurburgring in between runs round the ‘Ring. The LS TMG Edition apparently sports a 5.0 litre V8 with 641bhp and 524lb/ft of torque, which will be enough to hit a 4.0 second 0-60mph and a top speed of around 200mph. UK Government to add electric cars to its fleet – but don’t think the PM will be driving a Tesla Model SFri, 18 Jul 2014The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV – the sort of car the Government will acquire The roll-out of electric cars has not been an exactly overwhelming success, with even the Government’s £5,000 bribe to get you to go electric failing to kick start electric car sales in a meaningful way. So the Lib Dem bit of the coalition has decided that the Government should lead by example and have declared that the Government Car Service – which supplies cars for ministers and ‘government’ use – will start to acquire electric cars from this Autumn and, as part of the £5 million scheme, the wider public sector will be involved with council, police and NHS fleets looking seriously at EVs. But this scheme is aimed at the sorts of government cars that do the daily grind; ferrying junior ministers, getting staff to meetings and making deliveries in commercial vehicles. 2040Parts.com © 2012-2024.
