Nissan LEAF reversing record on video

The Nissan LEAF EV broke the record for the fastest reversing over a mile at this weekend’s Goodwood Festival of Speed and we have it on video. Last week we reported that as part of its ‘Big Turn On ‘ campaign to get the world ‘switched on’ to electric cars Nissan were going to have a crack at the world record for going backwards for a mile in a car at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Which they did.

The new Hyundai Genesis (pictured) IS coming to Europe We’ve long thought it was time for Hyundai to bring higher-end cars to the UK and Europe as the perception of their cars as budget offerings only has morphed in to an acceptance that Hyundai’s range of cars is actually a credible mainstream force. Now that looks set to happen. Last month we reported that it looked like Hyundai are planning on introducing the new Genesis in the UK after we learnt they had plans to build RHD Genesis for Australia, and Hyundai has now confirmed they will be launching Genesis in Europe next year.

General Motors CEO Rick Wagoner out, replaced by COO Fritz Henderson

General Motors chairman and CEO Rick Wagoner has agreed to "step aside" after pressure from the Obama administration last week, ending his eight-year tenure at the helm as the company seeks additional federal aid. He's been replaced by GM President and COO Fritz Henderson, effective immediately. GM confirmed the moves shortly after midnight Monday.
