Honda Small Sports EV Concept at Tokyo Home Motor Shows are car makers’ favourites, so with the Tokyo Motor Show just round the corner Honda has revealed plans for seven concepts at the show including a small electric roadster and a plug-in hybrid – the Honda AC-X. Honda’s display at the Tokyo Show is going to be the biggest of any car maker. The headline act – certainly from a petrolhead’s point of view – is probably going to be Honda’s Small Sport EV Concept.

VW will show the new-for-2011 Tiguan crossover at the Geneva motor show next month. The Tiguan has been given the latest VW design look and feel. So the front grille has been widened for a sleeker look, rounded front lights are swapped for more angular, crisper items.

Tail fins are making a comeback at General Motors Co., although they are a far cry from the saillike appendages of the 1950s. And this time the company is calling them blades. The look, pioneered on the Chevrolet Volt to improve aerodynamics, will appear on other models to boost fuel economy, said Ed Welburn, GM's global design chief.
