THIS IS

LUCAS SFT-700 FOG LIGHT WITH A BRAND NEW 12-VOLT, 48-WATT, CLEAR BULB, THE AMBER BULB THAT IT CAME WITH AND GOOD, VINTAGE WIRING.

THIS LIGHT WAS MANUFACTURED BY LUCAS IN SEPTEMBER 1954 AND IS IN TRULY GREAT CONDITION FOR ITS AGE BUT BY NO STRETCH OF THE IMAGINATION CAN IT BE DESCRIBED "AS NEW".  IT IS NEARLY 60 YEARS OLD!  SO IF YOUR LOOKING FOR TRUE VINTAGE, THIS IS THE ONE FOR YOU AND IT IS READY FOR MOUNTING ON YOUR CAR.  PLEASE LOOK CLOSELY AT THE PHOTOS.  THERE IS SOME SHALLOW PITTING AND WEAR, THERE IS EVIDENCE OF A DENT REPAIR (YOU WON'T SEE IT WHEN IT'S MOUNTED ON YOUR CAR) AND IT WAS OBVIOUSLY USED BY A SERIOUS DRIVER AS THE REAR HAS BEEN DRILLED FOR A STABILIZER ROD (WHICH YOU ALSO WON'T SEE WHEN MOUNTED).  ALL THIS IS REFLECTED IN THE PRICE!

I HAVE PHOTOGRAPHED THE LIGHT IN PIECES SO YOU CAN SEE EXACTLY WHAT YOU WOULD BE GETTING.  EACH LIGHT IS APPROX. 7 INCHES (178 MM) IN DIAMETER.

THESE LIGHTS AND THEIR SMALLER BROTHERS, THE 576'S, WERE THE LIGHTS FITTED TO MANY BRITISH LUXURY CARS AND QUOTED AS OPTIONAL EXTRAS FOR THE LESSER OF THE BREEDS.

ALSO, IF YOU WERE SERIOUSLY RALLYING OR ENDURANCE RACING, LUCAS WERE THE AUXILARY LIGHTS YOU HAD MOUNTED ON YOUR CAR!  THEY WERE ORIGINALLY AVAILABLE FOR RACING AND RALLYING APPLICATIONS

WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT?

Porsche Cayenne gets more power

Wed, 20 Apr 2011

Porsche Cayenne Turbo - Powerkit adds 40bhp A lack of power is not something you would normally complain about with the Porsche Cayenne Turbo. After all, despite weighing roughly the same as a grouse moor (unlike the previous generation which weighed slightly more than a small moon), it’s 500bhp V8 moves this SUV to 60mph in a chunk less than 5 seconds. But power under the bonnet is addictive, and even if you have 500bhp under your right foot there will always be occasions when you wish you had just that bit more.

Audi Q4 ‘Coupe’ SUV previewed in design sketches

Tue, 08 Apr 2014

Is this Audi Concept, heading for Beijing, the new Audi Q4 Audi are taking the ‘Design Sketch’ route for their tease of a new concept heading for this month’s Beijing Motor Show, which almost certainly portray a concept version of a forthcoming Audi Q4. Apart from the sketches, Audi are being tight-lipped about what they’re taking to Beijing, but it certainly looks like a high-riding SUV concept with a more coupe roofline than either the Q3 or Q5. In fact, this new Audi Concept looks very like the Audi Allroad Shooting Brake Concept we saw at Detroit in January and points firmly to Audi looking to extenbd its reach in to ‘Lifestyle’ SUVs with more desighn than practicality.Which is no surprise – Audi love a niche, especially one that’s growing.

Toyota Prius points the way to design future

Mon, 18 May 2009

For a glimpse of Toyota's future design trends, check out the Prius. The third generation, debuting Monday in Japan, stays true to the line's role as a vanguard of futuristic styling and sports many new elements that will be popping up soon in other models. Chief among these are the sharply creased corners, the forward placement of the Toyota badge, a lowered grille and styling that Toyota's global design chief Wahei Hirai calls "free-form geometrics." The goal was to create an avant-garde, high-tech look that also screams green.
