The Group's Czech arm is showing a new concept dubbed the Fabia vRS 2000, which has been specifically developed and built for the event. Drawing on the Fabia Super 2000 rally car, Skoda's designers have created an original roadster pursuing a single goal: dynamism and the joy of sporty driving.

We later clobbered the black-polo-necked styling boss and asked if we could give it away on CAR Online. He agreed, added some finishing touches and signed the Kia Sportage design sketch.

It may have managed to pass the Elk test to make it safe, but 350bhp would be enough to tear the steering wheel from your hands and roll you over in a brisk bend. But this isn’t the current A-Class we’re talking about, but the 2012 Mercedes A-Class based on the very fine-looking Mercedes Concept-A we reported a couple of weeks ago, and which bowed in at Shanghai this week.
