Here is very unusual vintage automobile item.  This is an original early 1970's STP Oil Filter endorsed by former Indianapolis 500 race car driver Andy Granatelli.  Andy Granatelli was a well known Indy 500, etc. race car driver back in the 60's and 70's as well as CEO and sponsor of STP Oil Products for years.  This is an STP (S-07) unused/unopened old stock oil filter that is still nicely sealed with the original clear plastic in the original cardboard container.  The plastic is in incredible condition for being over 40+ years having only small (~1") tear over the "T" on one side and a couple very tiny (barely noticeable) pin-holes in a couple places.  The box features great graphics of an old Indy Race Car on two sides and a b&w photo of Granatelli along with the product warranty on the other two sides.  This gem was found on the shelf in the back room of an old auto parts store that was closed-up several years ago.  I got to believe that there can't be many of these out there especially in this condition.  If you're into collecting vintage car parts or Indy 500 stuff this is definitely a gotta have.

Euro NCAP finds quadricycles had “severe safety problems”

Wed, 04 Jun 2014

Euro NCAP has branched out from cars and crash tested a small selection of “heavy quadricycles”  – small, four-wheeled vehicles that were originally developed from motorcycles that are sometimes also known as microcars, and don’t come under the usual car regulations. Although legal for use on the road, these machines do not need to achieve the same rigorous crash test safety standards as ordinary cars. But they are increasingly seen as a fuel-efficient urban transportation alternative, and some of them can be driven teenagers as young as 16.

Exchange & Mart ceases publication

Well, in print, at least. When I was nowt but a lad, the only place to find a car for sale, beyond your local garage or local classifieds, was Exchange & Mart. It was the bible for the UK car buyer.
