This is an original 1968-1969 Z-28 large journal crankshaft GM part# 1178. This is standard on both the rods and mains. I personally took the crank to my local machine shop and they magnafluxed it for me. It checked out great with no issues to be seen. I will include the receipt with the crankshaft.  This has not been spun, welded, repaired or altered in any way. The thrust is also in fine shape. Should clean up at .010 on both the rods and mains with no problem. This is as nice as one could hope to find. As you know these originals are very hard to find in any condition let alone a std-std version.....

Word at the New York auto show has Mazda bringing its Sky-D direct-injection diesel engines to the United States in 2012. The first Mazda oil-burner here will be a Mazda 6-size vehicle, said Mazda CEO Takashi Yamanouchi. He wouldn’t say exactly what car, though.

GM spending $336 million on plant upgrades for Volt production

General Motors on Monday said it would spend $336 million on upgrades to the Hamtramck plant near downtown Detroit to build the Chevrolet Volt hybrid car. The plant will begin building Volt prototypes next spring, using the Hamtramck plant's existing production line. Production of saleable vehicles begins next fall.
