MG TF – finally built at Longbridge. Plus mystery MG

Mon, 02 Jun 2008

By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 02 June 2008 12:18 After a series of twists, turns, delays and wildly ambitious claims more akin to a Miss Marple whodunnit, MG has finally built its first TFs at the Longbridge plant in the West Midlands. We've seen the first TF LE500 models at Longbridge and we hear they will be in dealers soon, priced at around £16,000.  What's changed since the last 2005 cars? These early pre-prototypes look virtually unchanged, but now come with a body-coloured hard-top, leather seats, air-con and improved interior plastics as standard. The cars pictured here have the new standard-fit glass rear screen, wind deflector, 16in alloys in shadow chrome or satin-black finish and the new piano black interior trim and revised dials.

Hand-built Porsche 'Frankfurt Flyer' special up for sale on eBay

Mon, 27 Jan 2014

This piece of organic-looking, handcrafted aluminium is called the ‘Frankfurt Flyer’ – a bespoke creation by American engineer Chris Runge. It’s rather special too, as the original Flyer racing car is the forebear to one of the most famous Porsche models ever, the 550 Spyder. This is one man’s painstaking recreation of one of the finest post-war sports cars to ever see the light of day, and it could be yours for $60,000 – around £36,500.

The name's Bond, budget Bond By Adam Binnie Motoring Issues 10 July 2014 09:06 News that a classic Aston Martin, full of James Bond gadgets, is to be sold at auction this Saturday 12 July 2014 may leave you yearning for a piece of the action for yourself. The idea of blasting through the Alps in a classic sports car with nothing on the horizon but a vodka martini and a suitcase full of secrets may leave you shaken and stirred, but sadly it is beyond the financial reach of most non-spies. Coys, auctioneers of the aforementioned DB 2/4 Vantage (below), were unable to speculate how much it would sell for, but it is likely to be an eye-watering sum.
