Ortovox Avalanche Backpack Free Rider 24 ABS 46734 00002

Ortovox maintains their tradition of bringing the latest in avalanche safety technology with their new backpacks utilizing the ABS air bag system.  ABS has been setting the standards of air bag systems and has been continually developing technology since 1985.  WPS now offers the Ortovox avalanche backpacks, ABS M.A.S.S. unit (Modular Airbag Safety System), and activation unit separately so you can choose your pack and also purchase replacement airbag and activation units. For more information, visit http://abs-airbag.de/en/

Advantages of ABS Twinbag technology:

  • Two airbags with separate air chambers provide double the safety
  • The twin bas provide additional volume and buoyancy and greatly reduce the probability of being buried in an avalanche (two ballons with a total volume of 170L)
  • Airbag inflates by triggering a reliable pyrotechnic-pneumatic system that fills the airbags in a matter of seconds
  • Visibility and freedom of movement are unrestricted even when the airbags are open
  • Wide contact surface (horizontal position) provides dynamic buoyancy and prevents immobilization at the avalanche runout zone
  • The inflated airbags are readily visible in the avalanche
  • After triggering, the system can be easily, quickly, and safely prepared for reuse (NEW activation unit required)

The most exclusive Mercedes-Benz G-class is this stretched BINZ

Fri, 20 Sep 2013

If you thought the G63 AMG was the meanest and most exclusive version of the Mercedes-Benz G-class that you could buy today, you haven't seen the version that Mercedes-Benz coachbuilder BINZ GmbH has been making for more than two decades. That's right, the smug owners of those G63 AMGs you see parked in front of trendy restaurants downtown do not, in fact, possess the coolest version of the long-running G-class. BINZ is known in other markets as the maker of Mercedes-Benz limousines and ambulances, but their wares are almost entirely unknown in the western hemisphere.

Google driverless cars ‘safer than humans’

Tue, 29 Oct 2013

Google claims that its driverless cars are now safer than human motorists, after analysing testing data gathered over thousands of experimental miles of assessment. The Internet search giant has been developing its controversial autonomous cars for several years, adapting a fleet of 10 vehicles – including six Toyota Prius hybrids, three Lexus RX450h off-roaders and an Audi TT – to drive by themselves. On Bing: see pictures of Google’s driverless carsThe driverless cars are coming – but are Brits ready?
