American Robby Gordon continues to hold second place overall at the completion of day three of the 2012 Dakar. Hummer driver Gordon, vying to make up for the delays suffered on Monday, completed the 129 competitive miles between San Rafael and San Juan in the Argentine Andes with the fifth-fastest time. His teammate and defending Dakar champion Nasser Al-Attiyah was third-quickest and moves into sixth position overall, having dropped precious time on day one with a loss of oil pressure.

The Vauxhall Monza coupe concept is a sign of things to come, says Vauxhall, and will be revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2013. Vauxhall coupes are rare beasts: since the Cavalier-based Calibra of the '90s and smaller Corsa-based Tigra, we've only had the imported V8 Monaro and the Astra two-door. The low-slung Monza previews the styling and design language of future products in the Opel/Vauxhall portfolio.

GM Sale to Magna Cancelled

GM has cancelled the sale of Opel and Vauxhall to Magna It’s been fraught with problems from the start, but what fire-sale isn’t? The unions have been unimpressed with what Magna were offering. The EU has had a pout and a stomp about the sale.  Lord Mandy has said lots but done little.
