Seat Ibiza SportCoupe (2008): the first pictures

Dubbed SportCoupe, the new car offers a unique silhouette and the first seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox in the supermini class. The SportCoupe takes inspiration from the Bocanegra concept, unveiled earlier in 2008 at the Geneva motor show, although it somehow seems to have lost the wow factor of that slinky show special.

With the marques in its erstwhile premium brand portfolio having moved on to pastures (and owners) new, Ford looks a little lacking in the options when it comes to challenging at the plusher end of the global car market. Possibly Is it just us, or does it strike you as a bit odd that Saab are sending us information on the 2012 Saab 9-5 revisions and on the yet-to-actually-launch Saab 9-5 SportWagon, when Saab doesn’t even know if it will survive beyond tomorrow? True, it’s always best to be optimistic and plan for success not failure, but wouldn’t it have been pragmatic to wait until Uncle Tom Cobley and all have had their say on whether Saab can take the Chinese Shilling to survive.
