This is a buy it now listing for a new reproduction Glöckler Frankfurt Porsche dealer body badge

for the model 356 Porsche including Speedsters and was also added to a few early 911's

that were sold through the Glöckler dealership in Frankfurt

Last four badges, after that there will be no more offered.

Glöckler hand built several "specials" from Porsche and Volkswagen parts

that successfully raced in Germany and Europe

Glöckler also had special performance mods and tuning that they would add to some of the Porsche cars that they sold.

  • Give your classic PORSCHE an old school authentic bit of style with the addition of one of these correctly reproduced badges.
  • Badge is confirmed correct and is approximately 1 3/4 inches in diameter (42mm)
  • Only one is needed for mounting on the passenger side.
  • Photo # 6 is an original badge for comparison purposes only.
  • Glöckler was one of the first and one of the largest Porsche 356 dealers in Germany.
  • Otto Glöckler had some influence with regard to the design of early 356 cars and is credited with building the first 550 Spyder style racer. The Porsche factory soon after adopted his design for their production 550's
  • The badge was mounted about one inch below the Reutter badge on cars that were sold or tuned by Glöckler.
  • In 2010 the dealership (now Porsche Zentrum Frankfurt)  celebrated it's 60 year anniversary and is recognized as the oldest PORSCHE dealer in the world. A special very limited run of these badges was made and given to special customers and VIP's

You can also see a picture of a Convertible D with the same badge in Gordon Maltby's 356 and RS Spyder book.

There is confirmation from an old Glockler dealership employee that Glöckler affixed this badge on cars they sold from the dealership.

Jaguar XF Estate on the way

Sun, 22 Mar 2009

Jaguar XF Estate - Expected to show as a Concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September Jaguar doesn’t have the best history on estate cars (the X-Type Estate, although a reasonable car – and 4WD – was just a Mondeo with smart clothes) but the Jaguar XF is such a triumph for Jaguar that I’m sure we’ll see the XF Estate taking the fight to the Germans in a big way. It’s reasonable to expect the standard engines and trim versions to carry over to the Estate, but apparently so will the mighty XFR trim. Which means we will see a Jaguar Estate car which will be able to take on the likes of the M5 Estate, the E63 AMG Estate and the RS6 Estate.

Porsche Cayenne GTS Design Edition 3

Thu, 26 Mar 2009

Porsche introduces the Cayenne GTS Design Edition 3 for £64,753. [ad#ad-1] Despite ‘The Economy’ and the general antipathy towards big SUVs, the Porsche Cayenne powers on and still sells in numbers that astonish those who don’t understand the car. The last model to be introduced (apart from the very limited Cayenne Transsyberia) was the GTS; a more road-focused version with a tweaked version of the normally aspirated 4.8 litre V8.

Salon Privé 2011: Night Shift

Thu, 17 Mar 2011

Salon Prive does a Night Shift for the Pommery Picnic It may be a bit of an exagerration to say that Salon Privé – one of our favourite ‘Car’ outings – is going to include a night shift in 2011 – but almost. Salon Prive’s move from the Hurlingham in Chelsea out to the less central – but more hospitable – Duke of Northumberland’s gaff at Syon Park means there’s room to expand the event, so we’re getting treated to the ‘Pommery Picnic’ on the Friday evening – 7pm ’til 11pm. As we never fail to mention when we bang on about Salon Prive, it’s just like a Garden Party in a wealthy friend’s house where he just happens to have littered the grounds with the world’s greatest cars.
