Compact display- fits flush on the dashboard or surrounds. Most other systems have large display units that cannot be fitted this way, and must be installed either on top or under dashboard. The "Engine Guard" uses the latest microprocessor technology making the display unit both more compact AND more accurate.

This system is entirely independent from the factory temperature gauge- you can actually see temperature changes in real time. The audible alarm can be set just above 'normal operating temperature', and can warn of overheating. Cheap insurance compared to expensive mechanical damage caused by overheating!

Installation is simple- no special tools or skills required. The Display Unit uses an advanced adhesive backing, so no drilling/screwing into the dashboard. The sensor is a simple bolt-on design that is quick to install and versatile. Please note the suggested location in the pictures above- the Sensor can be located in many other locations such as on the sump, on the gearbox/transmission, oil filter, etc. The audible warning buzzer is separate from the Display, so can be either hidden behind the dashboard, or the wires can be extended to relocate the buzzer closer to the driver/operator or in noisy environments.

Comprehensive Installation and Operating instructions supplied.

Sensor Wire Length: 5m
Input Voltage          : 12v - 24v DC

CASE STUDY BY EBAY PURCHASER - DUAL SENSOR MODEL (SEE OUR STORE FOR DETAILS- A$129)

‘Recently I completed the installation of a GM Corvette LS3/480 HP V8 in my 2003 996 Porsche. Getting all the electrical to work has been my greatest challenge. One of those issues has been my water temperature gauge. It will work for 30 minutes, then it faults. No one seems to know why this happens... So I had to have a backup for my upcoming 4,000 mile car trip. I had the good fortune to find the "Engine Guard" digital temperature gauge while I was searching the internet. I purchased the two-sensor unit, one for water and the other for oil temp. Both sensors mounted easily with a hose clamp. What a small and mighty unit! I hid the head unit in my ashtray. It's easy to read, has big numbers, and the alarm works as advertised. By monitoring the oil temp, I found that I had high oil temps in 90-degree (32degC) plus ambient. If I had not been monitoring the oil temp with the "Engine Guard" gauge, I could have gotten into some serious trouble and expensive repairs. Now I'll add an oil cooler to hopefully remedy that problem during hard driving or high outside temperatures. Engine Guard is inexpensive, easy to install, and a precision instrument. I'm sure there are many other uses for this fine instrument.’

Why YOU need an ENGINE GUARD overheating alarm!

Factory temperature gauges fitted to most vehicles only show LARGE temperature changes- typically in three stages being ‘COLD – OK – OVERHEATING’. Actual engine temperature can change between 90°c and 110°c and the needle may not move! This is designed to give you ‘peace of mind’. Unfortunately, it can also go from "OK" to "OVERHEATING" in seconds - causing expensive engine damage. The same applies to vehicles with a warning light and NO temperature gauge. You may see the light, but by then, the damage may be done!

Even mild overheating can cause serious problems. Most modern engines use lightweight materials and some have greatly reduced durability at ‘higher than normal’ temperatures. With Engine Guard, you can monitor small changes in temperature. This gives you an opportunity to reduce loading or speed, or possibly stop and check the engine BEFORE overheating occurs.

The Engine Guard uses a completely separate sensor and an accurate digital display- completely independent of the factory temperature gauge. This will enable you to see changes in real time- quickly and accurately. YOU set the audible alarm to warn you if the temperature is higher than normal. You can just relax and watch the road- and that’s got to be safer!

ENGINE GUARD - cheap insurance for engines!

Consider these examples: · You are towing uphill, and the engine is working hard. The sharp corners need all your attention…. ·

The traffic is heavy. It’s a hot day. The air conditionings going flat out. It’s too busy to watch a gauge…. ·

You lend the vehicle to someone, and they don’t watch their gauges…..

In each case, an engine may overheat and the repairs could cost you thousands. Whatever the reason, an overheated engine will ruin your day. Engine Guard will warn you, or any other driver, and this is cheap insurance compared to an engine rebuild or replacement! And it’s not just the cost- it’s the inconvenience and the embarrassment. And especially if it could be easily avoided!

Simple and easy to install – Versatile – Useful!

Engine Guard can be installed quickly and easily- no special skills or tools required. The simple bolt-on sensor can be fitted in minutes. It is also very versatile- the sensor can monitor virtually anything within the temperature range 0°c -125°c. It can be used on different locations on an engine, or alternatively it can be used to monitor gearboxes, auto transmissions, diffs, etc. See the User Manual for suggestions! It can also be used to trigger additional cooling fans, water injection, etc. In industrial applications such as generators or water pumps it can be used to shut down an overheating engine. It could even be used on a refrigeration plant to warn if the cooling system is failing!

Don’t delay – Engine Guard today!

Fri, 17 Dec 2010

McLaren MP4-12C GT3 - going racing in 2012 We have been expecting McLaren to confirm that they are going racing with the McLaren MP4-12C. It would be unthinkable for McLaren not to take their new baby to the track but we’d had no confirmation. We had seen the McLaren MP4-12C GT3 out testing last month so we knew an announcement was likely to be imminent, and so it is.

Mercedes G-Class: BA3 Final Edition Swansong

Sat, 07 May 2011

The Mercedes G350 BlueTEC BA3 Final Edition - the end of an era The word ‘Iconic’ is bandied around far too much when it comes to cars. We’re probably as guilty as the next pack of hacks of attaching iconic to anything that’s been around for a while. But few would argue it’s not an epithet the Mercedes G-Class warrants.
