McLaren MP4-12C Revealed

McLaren has released details of their new supercar - the McLaren MP4-12C Known for so long by its code name – P11 – this MP4-12C is the first real McLaren since the legendary F1. And on the face of it it certainly looks like it has enough to offer to stand proud as the inheritor of McLaren’s reputation for exceptional road cars. Not scheduled to go on sale until 2011, the MP4-12C is aimed at the heart of Supercar sales, expected to go on sale at a price a small notch above the latest offering from Ferrari – the 458 Italia – at around £160,ooo.

Lotus Evora 414E Hybrid (2010): first news

By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 24 February 2010 18:00 Lotus has confirmed the full details of its new Evora Hybrid, or the Lotus Evora 414E Hybrid Concept Car, to give it the full, long-winded name. It's a plug-in petrol-electric hybrid car in keeping with Hethel's performance credentials: it'll hit 60mph in 'less than 4sec'. The range of the Evora hybrid testbed is said to be more than 300 miles.

BMW M7 coming after all?

Despite BMW’s stating they will never make an M7, BMW’s American boss Ludwig Willisch says it will happen. Three years ago the BMW ‘M’ anoraks got excited when they thought BMW was about to produce a range-topping M7, but it turned out the photos that elicited their excitement were simply a 7 Series with an M Sport pack bolted on. In answer to the M-anorak’s disappointment BMW pointed out – very sensibly in our view – that the market for an M7 would be tiny and that you could already have a 760i M Sport with a stunning V12 and 0-62mph in 4.5 seconds.
