BMW 7-series facelift (2012) first pictures
Mon, 28 May 2012BMW has given the 7-series the mildest of mid-life facelifts for 2012 – with a series of cosmetic tidy-ups, fettled engines, extra kit and the UK's first hybrid 7-series. The ActiveHybrid7 isn't the most expensive 7-series (that's the 760Li at £101,805), but at £66,040 the petrol-electric saloon is some £8k pricier than the biggest-selling 730d. As the diesel is also cleaner and more economical, we suspect the hybrid Seven will remain a niche seller over here.
Mitsubishi XR-PHEV, Concept GC-PHEV and Concept AR revealed for Tokyo
Fri, 01 Nov 2013Mitsubishi XR-PHEV, Concept GC-PHEV and Concept AR revealed for Tokyo With the Tokyo Motor Show arriving at the end of the month, Japanese car makers are revealing the concepts they hope will steal the limelight at their home show, and today it’s the turn of Mitsubishi to reveal the three new concept cars heading for the show. The three Mistubishi concepts were teased in a moody, shadowy photo in October, but we now get details of the XR-PHEV, Concept GC-PHEV and Concept AR. The Concept GC-PHEV is Mitsubishi’s vision of a next-generation full-size SUV and comes with 4WD and a plug-in hybrid powertrain consisting of a 3.0 litre V6 supercharged engine mated to an eight-speed auto box with a high-output electric motor and high-capacity battery.
Alfa Romeo Gloria Concept looks like a proper Alfa
Sat, 16 Feb 2013A new Alfa concept – the Alfa Romeo Gloria Concept – is heading for the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. But it’s not previewing a new Alfa. They’re wrong, of course, but the logic that if you buy a car for how it looks and how it makes you feel, rather than its reliability or cost, marks you out as someone with high octane fuel instead of blood running through your veins, is sound.
