Mini is the UK’s Slowest Depreciating Car
Tue, 25 Nov 2008That vital tool of the used-car trade, Glass’s Guide, has today revealed that the Mini 1.4TD is the slowest depreciating car in the UK. For the second year running, the Mini tops the table, although even it has slipped a bit – retaining 63.2% of its value over three years, a fall of 7.8% since last year. Mini Diesel - Lowest depreciating car in the UK Glass’s cite the reasons for the Mini’s success as its strong image, a perception of quality and its reasonable running costs.
One in five suffers 'car envy'
Tue, 21 Jan 2014DRIVERS in the UK are more likely to give way to classic or unusual cars such as a Citroen 2CV or Volkswagen Beetle, but one in five also admits they are less likely to be courteous to large 4x4s due to car envy, according to a survey. Nearly a half (47%) of UK motorists say they leave more space between their car and the one in front if the car ahead is driven by an elderly driver. Others (5%) admit to trying to slow down boy racers if they see the driver is wearing a baseball cap and is a young male.
University of Huddersfield Degree Show 2008
Fri, 05 Sep 2008Destinations, the graduate show of the Transport Design degree course at the University of Huddersfield, showed projects created by graduating students earlier this summer as part of the School of Art and Design's Graduate Show week, and also at the New Designers exhibition held in London's Business Design Centre. While a significant proportion of the course is orientated towards automotive exterior and interior design, projects also allow for a wider interpretation of transport design including boats, public transport, trucks and motorcycles as well as more conceptual approaches towards transport issues of the future. This year's graduates investigated a large range of themes and produced a variety of design solutions.
