Hyundai ix35: Prices and specs revealed en France
Sat, 20 Feb 2010The Hyundai ix35 - the French get prices and specs before the UK We’ve been expecting Hyundai in the UK to release prices and specs for the new Hyundai ix35 for a few weeks now. We had a fair bit of information on the UK Hyundai ix35 back in September at Frankfurt, but for whatever reason we haven’t had price and model detail. So as Hyundai in Europe have got their act together and sent out details of what’s on offer in the ix35 range – and for how much – we thought that you might like a glimpse of what we’re likely to get.
Lexus CT200h (2011): UK prices, spec announced
Fri, 29 Oct 2010Lexus has revealed prices for its new CT200h - and they're pretty punchy. The base CT200h clocks in at £23,485, rising to a startling £30,635 for the SE-L Premier. Lexus says it's the first sporty hybrid, but can the new CT really woo drivers out of their cheaper Audis and BMWs? The CT200h is aimed squarely at the A3 and 1-series, but comes with just one drivetrain for now. The Lexus uses Prius hardware, so there's a 1.8-litre petrol mated to an electric motor to produce 134bhp - enough for the 1420kg CT200h to hit 62mph in 10.3sec.
Brazilian students develop soapbox racers for Volkswagen
Wed, 18 Dec 2013Brazilian design students have competed for year-long internships at Volkswagen's Brazilian design studio by designing – and racing – soapbox cars. Established 15 years ago by Volkswagen South America design director Luiz Veiga, the Volkswagen Design Talent Contest refreshed its format for 2013 by challenging students to develop a prototype for a gravity-powered soapbox racer instead of asking for sketch and render-based proposals. According to Veiga, Volkswagen was looking for someone "capable of working away from the desk and able to create design solutions, assess and build them".
