Pair of Chrome Headlamp Ring Mouldings for a 1958 through 1960 Chevy Corvette. While GM replaced these with painted metal rings in their 1961's and 62's (to make the car appear "longer"), many people with these later models replaced them with the older chrome model. People still do.  These Headlamp Rings were removed from a 1961 Corvette that had been stored in a garage for 27 years and is now being restored to "Stock". I don't know how long these rings had been on this vehicle (since they weren't "Stock"), but they do show road rash pitting and pimples consistent with chrome parts that have been on the front of such a vehicle for a number of years. In short, they are used. A perfectionist would probably rechrome them, but I should think they would be acceptable for a "Driver" car. They are authentic GM parts, not reproductions, and carry the GM Part # 3779239.

Pumpkin-carving ideas for Porsche fans and other car geeks

Fri, 21 Oct 2011

As Halloween approaches, most of you are probably asking the all-important question: "What kind of cool, car-related pumpkin carving can I do?" The folks over at PorschePurist have the answer: a Porsche jack-o'-lantern. All you need is a pumpkin big enough for some detailed carving work, a template or two and a steady hand. We won't give away the rest, but a Dremel tool isn't a bad thing to have handy, either.

Porsche 911 Turbo S China 10th Anniversary Edition revealed

Mon, 30 May 2011

Porsche 911 Turbo S China 10th Anniversary Edition - celebrating a decade of Porsche in China It must have seemed a slightly optimistic decision when Porsche decided to make its mark in China in 2001 by opening a Porsche Center in Beijing, But it turned out to be a stroke of genius. China is now the second most important market for Porsche with the Stuttgart car maker now shifting almost 14,000 cars a year, a big change from the handful it managed in 2002. Big markets deserve special editions, and with plenty of wealthy individuals in China keen to have something no one else has, the Porsche 911 Turbo S China 10th Anniversary Edition – a moniker which fortunately isn’t written on the boot – will sell out straight away.
