General Motors to invest more than $850 million to build new V8s

General Motors Co. said Tuesday it will invest more than $850 million to upgrade five North American factories to make its next-generation V8 engines more fuel efficient. The new V8s will differ from the current versions by using direct injection and a new combustion system, spokeswoman Sharon Basel said.

Kia has revealed the 2010 Sportage at Geneva As with many of the reveals we’re getting at Geneva, we’ve already told you to expect the car in previous reports. We reported a month ago that Kia’s version of the Hyundai ix35 – the Kia Sportage – would bow in at Geneva, but we had precious little detail beyond a couple of photos. Dodge will get first Fiat-based car in late 2011

The Dodge brand will receive the first Chrysler Group product based on Fiat's Compact Wide architecture, Fiat S.p.A. and Chrysler Group CEO Sergio Marchionne said Thursday. The Fiat-based sedan will broaden Dodge's offerings in the crucial compact segment.
