"Say Yer Prayers, Rabbit!" -- Volkswagen revives Golf name
Wed, 25 Mar 2009After only four model years, Volkswagen Group of America Inc. is ditching the Rabbit name and returning to the Golf moniker for its smallest model in the United States. The new generation of the car, which goes on sale in October, will be called the Golf and makes it U.S.
Ultra-rare Steyr Puch 500 goes to auction
Tue, 16 Sep 2014£18,000 might seem like a lot of money for a car based on the original Fiat 500, but this particular Steyr Puch example is one of just 33 ever built. Austrian firm Steyr Puch entered into an agreement with Fiat in 1954 after production was halted during World War II, and began production of the 500 under licence. Only 33 right-hand drive examples were ever produced, and of those only two survive; this example and one in the Steyr Puch museum in Austria.
Ford's V6 gamble turbocharges sales of F-150
Mon, 15 Aug 2011Five years ago, when Ford considered a push to put a pricey, premium V6 in more F-150s, it seemed like a dangerous gamble with a macho, full-sized pickup known for toughness and capacity. To many dealers and company insiders, it seemed like a bad joke. "I once said, "Bubba don't buy nothing but a V8, and we've got a lot of Bubbas out here,'" recalls Martin Gubbels, owner of Big Sky Ford-Lincoln in Torrington, Wyo.
