Sportscar is pleased to offer for your consideration a matched pair of original
1" diameter SU H1 carburetors, intake manifold and heat shield for the
Austin Healey Bugeye Sprite BMC A-series 948cc engine in original unrestored
condition. The tags on the top of the
carburetor float bowls read AUC863. The
intake manifold is part no. AEA 337. The entire assembly is in original unrestored
condition as salvaged recently from a 1959 Austin Healey Bugeye Sprite. The assembly components will require a
complete restoration to be serviceable. One of the carburetor pistons is free; the
other piston is seized in the suction chamber.
Assume that the carburetor linkage is seized, as well. Please note that there is a crack in the heat
shield (see photo). This includes all
the associated fuel lines as shown in the last two photos. Please look carefully at all the photos. Please e-mail us for details or if you have

Mercedes CLA employs a cat in new advert to demonstrate its aerodynamic shape (video)
Mon, 14 Apr 2014It’s the Mercedes CLA sliding cat advert We’re not entirely sure that Mercedes has chosen to focus attention on a cat in a new advert for the CLA to dig at Jaguar’s mickey-take of its chicken advert for Magic Body Control, but it’s definitely the cat that’s front and centre, regardless of the motivation. With the new Mercedes CLA boasting exceptional aerodynamic credentials, Mercedes has employed a stunt cat to slide up and over the CLA to demonstrate just how slippery their new compact saloon is. Already shown on TV in the UK at the weekend (during the new series of Britain’s Got Talent), the moggie in question – William, apparently – glides effortlessly over the CLA’s slippery shape to a soundtrack playing Rossini’s Duetto buffo di due gatti (which you may not think you know, but you do).
