Ann Arbor Sportscar is pleased to offer for your consideration a matched pair of original 1.5 " SU HD4 carburetors and intake manifold for various Volvo models, including PV 445, 444, 445 and 544 with the B16 engine.  The intake manifold is Volvo part no. 403917.   The entire assembly is in original unrestored condition.  The assembly components will require a complete restoration to be serviceable.   One of the carburetor pistons is free; the other piston is seized in the suction chamber.   Assume that the carburetor linkage is seized.  Unfortunately, we are missing one of the fuel float bowls for a carburetor.  Please look carefully at all the photos.  Please email us for details or if you have any questions.  We will ship this carb assembly internationally; email us for a shipping cost estimate.

Jimbo Paranada and Marc Paguirigan wore their leis made of lucky Hawaiian ti leaves, but it wasn't quite enough to give the Maui High School students the win in the 62nd-annual Ford/AAA Student Auto Skills national competition on June 14 at Ford World Headquarters in Dearborn, Mich. The Hawaiian duo finished second to the two-person team of Matthew Saunders and Drew Torrey from Vale High School in Vale, Ore. The Oregon pair won the title of "America's Best Student Auto Technicians," outscoring at field of state champions from all 50 states.

Porsche 918 infotainment system to be based on HTML5

While some automakers, like Ford and General Motors, are beginning to open up their code to outside developers via application programming interfaces, Porsche's taking a very interesting route for the 918 Spyder's infotainment system. The the hybrid supercar's dashboard interface uses the same code that the modern Internet runs on: HTML5. Germany's AutoBild reports that Porsche cites the ease of programming as part of their rationale for the system; smartphone integration is another.
