Production output decline slowing
Fri, 24 Jul 2009By Alex Michaelides Motor Industry 24 July 2009 12:09 It appears there may be some light at the end of the tunnel for ailing car manufacturers as the most recent vehicle production figures are released. The data, presented by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), show that, while production levels are still on the decline, the pace at which they are declining is slowing. Car production figures for June 2009 are still down by 30.2% compared with this time last year, however this is an improvement on the 50.2% by which production is down so far this year.
UK car production slumps, state help sought
Fri, 21 Nov 2008By Digby Fullam Motor Industry 21 November 2008 14:30 The full effect of the downturn in the global economy is being felt by the UK motor industry, new figures out today reveal. Car production at British factories fell by 29.5% from October 2007's figure. That makes it the worst October production figures since 1991 which, if you’ll cast your mind back, was the last recession. The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders blamed the slump on 'a rapid reduction in demand for motor vehicles.' It’s not just us Brits that aren’t buying cars, either.
More Lamborghini Aventador video goodness: Roman holiday
Thu, 28 Apr 2011Hot on the heels of its apocalyptic drive video, the brand-new Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 once again graces us with its presence in two new videos highlighting the sights of Rome and the Italian countryside. Not to be shown up by world-famous architecture and history, the new 700-hp $379,700 supercar casts a striking contrast against storied Italian landmarks as it shows its prowess in both city and country settings. The first video shows a spirited jaunt through Rome, where two Aventadors look perfectly at home.
