The new car builds on the new design identity established by the SR1 concept, but also features elements of the diminutive BB1 concept revealed at the 2009 Frankfurt motor show. Read our opinion of the new design in our 2010 Paris Motor Show Highlights, and see more photos, sketches and renderings of the HR1 concept in our photo gallery below.

Vauxhall Corsa VXR (2007): first official pictures

Wed, 03 Jan 2007

By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 03 January 2007 00:01 Vauxhall Corsa VXR: the lowdown Vauxhall will unleash its hottest-ever supermini in March: the 190bhp Corsa VXR. In keeping with the UK-only VXR branding, the hot hatch will be spruced up with a butch bodykit, a series of chassis tweaks and a turbocharged version of Vauxhall's 1.6-litre engine. Vauxhall's previous sporting superminis have left us lukewarm, but this latest one promises some fireworks in the engine department: the company quotes 0-62mph in just 6.8sec, and it tops out at 140mph.

Tesla Roadster Sport announced

Sun, 11 Jan 2009

The Tesla Roadster Sport will be available from the summer, for around €112K, and claims a 0-60 time of 3.7 seconds, a 0.2 improvement on the existing Tesla Roadster. The extra power comes from fiddling with the stator in the motor and an increased winding density for less resistance (I’m sure that must make sense if you understand Electric Motors – I’m still stuck on the internal combustion engine – must keep up!). The Tesla Roadster Sport also gets Yokohama Ultra High Performance tyres and some suspension tweaks.
