You are bidding on a pretty rough shell of a Victor #2 lantern from a 1913 or 1914 Model T Ford.  I'm pretty sure its a Victor but I could be wrong. The fount collar is smaller than on, say, a Brown 110, and the slots for the lock mechanism for the founts are the same as on other Victors I've seen.  Nevertheless, this light is pretty rough, the top, sides, and fount are all gone. The body is pretty banged up in some places. Maybe you can use it as a donor lamp for patches to fix a badly rusted light, or perhaps salvage the bracket, but that's about it. Still too good to throw away, Victor lights were a little bit better quality than Ford's other lamp suppliers in that era. Items shown in pictures are what you will receive.

Approved mechanics essential for quality service

DRIVERS need to make sure their car is being properly serviced by a qualified mechanic, says the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI). To help drives do this, it has launched a government-backed scheme called the Professional Register. While there are around 175,000 people in the UK who call themselves automotive technicians, the IMI says it can only recommend around 27,000 as having the required skills and competence to carry out work to the required standard in their specialism.

It's (almost) alive: General Motors and NASA develop a humanlike robot for the International Space Station

Wed, 14 Apr 2010

General Motors and NASA have teamed up to develop Robonaut 2, which will be the first humanlike robot to take up permanent residence on the International Space Station. Known as R2, the 300-pound robot will use its “hands” and “arms” to utilize the tools of the station. It will assist astronauts, which GM says has parallels with helping its workers in factories.
