Salon Prive: Atomik 500 UK Debut
Fri, 28 May 2010The Atomik 500 - an electric City Car with supercar performance You wouldn’t necessarily think that a Fiat 500 based car would be the sort of thing that would turn up at Salon Prive, much less have its UK debut. But the Atomik 500 is no ordinary Fiat 500 based car. It’s a bonkers electric car promising supercar performance in a city-sized car.
Third of motorists admit to driving with no MOT
Wed, 21 Aug 2013A third of motorists have driven a car knowing the MOT had expired, risking fines of up to £1,000 and invalidating their insurance in the process. That’s according to a survey conducted by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), which found that of 1,000 UK motorists, 67% had driven without an MOT for up to a week, 24% for a month, 7% for six months and – shockingly – 2% for more than six months. Now we’d give the 67% who admitted driving without an MOT for a week the benefit of the doubt – it’s easy to forget the test is due.
Red Bull do doughnuts on the Burj Al Arab Helipad to celebrate F1 title (video)
Fri, 01 Nov 2013David Coulthard gives the thumbs up whilst doing doughnuts Sebastian Vettel may be cool, collected and composed behind the wheel of his Red Bull F1, but even an in-control German needs to let off steam when he’s just taken his fourth F1 drivers title in a row. So at last week’s Indian Grand Prix, Seb celebrated his title win by producing a series of doughnuts in his car on the finish line, much to the annoyance of FIA officials who fined him €25k for his celebrations. But the latest doughnuts by an F1 team won’t have the FIA up in arms (probably) even if the stunt Red Bull have pulled to mark their latest achievements will give anyone who’s afraid of heights the heebie-jeebies.
