UPDATED Aston Martin shuts historic factory

Much of the historic site will be sold and turned into offices and homes. It brings to an end a long and distinguished history of car and carriage making at Newport Pagnell - stretching all the way back to the 1820s.

It looks like Volvo will be asking around £2500 more for the V40 Cross Country than the regular V40 hatch. Both the Volvo V40 Cross Country and R-Design look great and offer much, but we’ve been busy guessing so far on how much extra extra they will cost when they go on sale. But now we know.

Two European luxury brands are tiptoeing into car sharing, a radical move for carmakers whose business for the past 100 years has been selling to individuals. German archrivals Daimler AG and BMW AG have launched sharing programs. The automakers say the move was prompted by changing attitudes about car ownership, especially among young buyers, and increased urban congestion.
