The Tokyo Motor Show today saw VW unveil a second iteration of their new small family car – a third model will be shown at the LA Auto Show in November 2007. They are shown off in a display featuring “Technologies for Today, Tomorrow and The Future”, together with Mazda’s new Mazda SKY Drive high-efficiency automatic transmissions. These new technologies are expected to bring Mazda’s corporate average fuel economy down by 30% in the next five years.
