As we expected, the 500C gets a full-length canvas roof, with the C pillars staying in place to keep the cost down and add strength. The assets of Fisker may now belong to China's auto parts giant Wanxiang, but reports of the brand's demise have been greatly exaggerated. It was earlier believed that along with the technology and the debt that Wanxiang would be taking on, one thing they wouldn't get is the Fisker brand name itself. After all, in the relatively short history of struggling western automotive brands that have been bought up by Chinese automakers, brand names haven't always been part of the deal.

The BMW 5 Series Hybrid As we reported in December, with a couple of days to go to the Geneva Motor Show BMW have revealed that the new BMW 5 Series (2010) will have a Hybrid added to its ranks. Actually, they haven’t said that – the 5 Series Hybrid Concept they’re taking to Geneva is labelled a Concept – but we all know it’s what they mean. The 5 Series Hybrid will join the X6 Hybrid and the 7 Series Hybrid when it goes on sale, probably in 2011.
