Using a slightly detuned TTRS engine, the RS Q3 puts 306bhp and 307lb ft through all four wheels, via a standard-fit dual-clutch gearbox Audi RS Q3: the powertrain spec The petrol-fuelled 2.5-litre five-cylinder turbocharged engine is related to the TTRS five-pot, but here it's developing 306bhp rather than 335bhp. Maximum torque is on tap from 1500rpm to 4200rpm.
Vauxhall/Opel Flextreme GT/E concept (2010)
Thu, 18 Feb 2010This is the Opel Flextreme GT/E, a new concept that Vauxhall’s sister brand will unveil at the 2010 Geneva motor show next month. It’s Vauxhall/Opel’s second Flextreme show car – the original was revealed at the 2007 Frankfurt show – and previews how GM’s extended-range electric vehicle technology can be utilised in large cars – the GT/E uses the same electrified powertrain that is found in the more compact Ampera. The GT/E has uses the same E-REV (extended-range electric vehicle) technology that’s been developed for the Ampera.
Honda Accord hybrid unintended-acceleration claim under review
Mon, 22 Nov 2010The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened a preliminary investigation into whether some Honda hybrid vehicles are prone to unintended acceleration. The federal auto safety regulator said Monday it had agreed to look into a complaint stemming from a fatal July 2005 crash. The driver of a 2005 Honda Accord Hybrid said she was driving over rumble strips on the side of a freeway when she tried to apply the brakes.
