Monterey Motorsports Reunion 2013 at Laguna Seca
Sun, 18 Aug 2013The air is full of dust and hydrocarbons, the noise is ear-splitting and there are more V8s on the grid than you can shake a con-rod at. It must be the Monterey Motorsports Reunion at Laguna Seca, the most action-packed portion of Pebble Beach and Monterey car week. For three days every August some of the most historic racing cars gather to take to one of the world’s most challenging racing circuits, in the hills above Monterey.
Mercedes SLS AMG – Leaked Photo
Sat, 11 Jul 2009First leaked picture of the Mercedes SLS AMG Gullwing Today we get a leaked ‘Official’ image of the SLS, which does seem to be real. It appears to be taken on a mobile phone – probably from magazine artwork at car magazine Autobild, and doesn’t look like a Photoshop job – it appears to be a photo. Which tends to suggest that Mercedes may have given them the detail for their next issue to coincide with the official release of the pictures, and the first solid detail.
Subaru Canada reveals ‘Driving Confidence’ contest winners
Fri, 17 Feb 2012Subaru Canada has revealed the top three designs from its ‘Driving Confidence' competition. The Canadian division of the company collaborated with the artist web site deviantART and called for "original creations that celebrate the bold design, superior handling, and meticulous engineering that Subaru vehicles are renowned for." The challenge asked for competitors to push their creativity "to the limit", which many of them did with some impressively-abstract designs. The winner won $2,500 for "Born to Rally in the Snow," the second place received $1,000 for "Unleash the Beast," while third place was awarded $500 for "Subaru Slot Car Set." The runner-up was "Subaru Impreza WRC Rally 'The Pass 2'." All of the submissions are being displayed at Subaru's booth at the Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto and in the gallery above.
