PIERCE ARROW

TIRE PRESSURE GAUGE

(with Original Case)

 Patent. June 13, 1911.

Manufactured by :  U.S. Gauge Co.  NY

I found the gauge in a box of my Grandfather’s tools.  In ~ 1915 he acquired a 1911 Pierce Arrow Touring Car and moved the family from Illinois to Portland, Oregon.  He didn’t like the weather, and moved to Southern California.  After they settled, he sold the car to buy property.  This gauge, along with other Pierce Arrow tools that will be sold later, came with the car.

The gauge was tested to 22 psi and held that pressure for 20 minutes plus.  When it was released, the gauge went to “0”.

The glass looks to be in good condition, just needs to be polished.  The rim has two dings:  one at the 10 psi area and one just below the air needle

The nickel back is in good condition for being 102 years young.  Some of the nickel is worn on the fitting.

The leather case is not in very good shape.  The snap has the “U.S. Gauge Co. logo on it.

This should make a nice addition to someone’s Pierce Arrow.

Please look at photos.  Sold as is.

Volvo PCP Performance Division planned on the back of rising sales

Mon, 04 Jul 2011

The Volvo C30 PCP by Polestar - 400bhp and £50k You’re not a serious player in the desirable saloon car stakes unless you have a performance division. BMW has the M Division and Mercedes has AMG; even VW has swapped out its Volkswagen Individual in to a division just to fettle ‘R’ cars and sell associated paraphernalia - Volkswagen R GmbH. And now it seems it’s the turn of Volvo.

New gadget immobilises cars with electronic pulse

Tue, 03 Dec 2013

Mitsubishi It might sound futuristic, but British technology company E2V has developed a prototype gadget capable of remotely stopping a car using a burst of electromagnetic radiation. Although it does appear to be a piece of equipment from the ‘James Bond bad guy’ locker, this technology really does work and could be used by police forces in the future.
