This aggressive slice of supercar is the Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Squadra Corse – making its debut here at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, it could quite possibly be the last current-shape Gallardo variant we’ll ever see. Named after a famous breed of fighting bull (what else?), the Gallardo has been around for a decade now. Tweaks to the chassis, engine and styling over that time have kept it fresh, but could the Squadra Corse be a last hurrah for this Lamborghini?

The Range Rover Hybrid (pictured) in Russia on the Silk Trail expedition The new Range Rover Hybrid (and the Range Rover Sport Hybrid) will be arriving in Land Rover Showrooms in the New Year after their debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show last week. Currently, ahead of the final production hybrids being signed-off, Land Rover are, as we’ve already reported, busy driving the Silk Trail to Mumbai to put the Range Rover Hybrids through their paces and iron out any problems that crop up. The first stage of the Silk Trail 2013 trek was mainly across Europe where, although urban landscapes tested the hybrid’s economy and flexibility, there wasn’t too much in the way of challenging terrain to make sure the hybrid Range Rover was up to muster.

Chevrolet Volt fire probe is closed, NHTSA says

U.S. safety regulators said Friday that they've closed an eight-week investigation into the Chevrolet Volt, concluding that the plug-in hybrid's battery doesn't pose a significant fire risk following a crash. In a statement, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said it "does not believe that Chevy Volts or other electric vehicles pose a greater risk of fire than gasoline-powered vehicles." The agency said that modifications intended to reinforce the Volt's 435-pound lithium-ion battery pack that General Motors announced on Jan.
