For auction is (1) connecting rod and piston assembly from a c1925 American LaFrance Type 12 engine. Standard size piston, no cracks. Assembly will require rebuilding before use; re-babbiting, new rings, and ring shims. Part number on connecting rod is 12E-3605R-L, piston is 12E-3617. Center distance is 14". Note this assembly is for the later Type 12 engine cylinders with round water domes. The connecting rod and piston are too long for the shorter cylinders with the oval water dome. The Land Rover Freelander 2 in the JLR assembly plant in Pune, India We reported last year that Land Rover were going to start building Freelanders in India this year. Well, bolting them together from CKD (Complete Knock Down) imported from Halewood, anyway. And, bang on target, Land Rover has had a bit of an event at Pune to celebrate the opening of their new assembly plant.
