Movie Cars: Crash on Sunday, sell on Monday
Thu, 19 May 2011“Hey Toreador! She signals, we head for the edge, and the first man who jumps is a chicken.” That line was one of the more memorable ones from the classic 1955 film Rebel Without a Cause, and it helped cement cars as key supporting actors--and sometimes the stars--on the silver screen. McLaren MP4-12C arrives in USA (video)
Fri, 17 Feb 2012The MP4-12C hits the US The McLaren MP4-12C has finally hit the USA, and to celebrate McLaren has put together a video showing its arrival in America. Being a supercar lover in the USA can have its drawbacks, particularly if you have a penchant for supercars from smaller car makers, because the US can be rather tetchy about letting a handful of supercars on American roads, just in case they destroy the fabric of American society. McLaren had that problem with their last car – the iconic McLaren F1 – and it took years for the legislative mess to be sorted to let ultra rich Americans indulge in a bit of McLaren love (mind you, it also lined McLaren’s pockets as they charged and arm and a leg for software to make US F1s legal).
Chrysler 200C Revealed
Wed, 13 Oct 2010The Chrysler 200C - replacement for the Sebring Although the Chrysler Sebring is a car you can actually pop off to your dealer and buy in the UK, a chunk of readers on this side of the Pond will know it best from trips to the US as the ugly lump of iron they got lumbered with at the car rental desk. The Sebring was unloved by car hacks and the motoring public alike; it mixed poor design with poor looks, a poor drive and a poor interior to make for less than dynamic sales. So when Chrysler tipped up to the Detroit Motor Show in 2009 with a 200C Concept it seemed clear that was what was coming to oust the Sebring.
