GM Foundation donates $2.5 million to Detroit's College for Creative Studies

The General Motors Foundation announced a $2.5 million donation to the College for Creative Studies in Detroit on Monday. CCS, with an enrollment of nearly 1,400, is one of the world's leading art and design schools. Maserati and Poltrona Frau are showcasing their continuing collaboration in automotive design in a weeklong exhibition at Design Centre at Chelsea Harbor, London. From 18 until 22 June the glass domes of Design Centre will play host to a Maserati GranCabrio Sport as well as one of Poltrona Frau's skilled artisan upholsterers working on a chair throughout the week in a demonstration of traditional Italian craftsmanship. Poltrona Frau, the international high-end furniture company, has realized the interiors of the entire Maserati range – including the Quattroporte saloon, GranTurismo coupe and GranCabrio convertible – through its 100-year history of leather working and handcraftsmanship.

Lamborghini revealed the V10-powered Gallardo Squadra Corse at the Frankfurt motor show on Tuesday. The name refers to the recently founded department within the company that manages all motorsport activities, from GT3 to Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo. Lamborghini says the Squadra Corse is derived directly from the race car version, using the same V10 engine and rear wing.
