Audi A1 e-tron Wankel range-extender EV trial begins
Sat, 29 Oct 2011Audi A1 e-tron trial begins in Munich If car makers are going to foist electric cars on us, the least they can do is make them as useful as the limited technology permits. And that’s what Audi are doing with the A1 e-tron EV. The Audi A1 e-tron isn’t a daft BEV (battery electric vehicle) with a woeful range at the mercy of weather conditions, instead it’s a range extender EV with a small Wankel engine which kicks-in when the battery charge is used up to increase range.
Porsche shows off 911 RSR for World Endurance Championship
Tue, 16 Apr 2013Porsche is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the 911 this year with several events including the Retro Classics show in Stuttgart, Germany, an exhibit at the Porsche Museum and honored marque status at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. Porsche also went racing with the new 911 RSR in the first event of the World Endurance Championship this weekend, and has posted a clip on its YouTube channel. The 991-based Porsche 911 RSR houses a 4.0-liter flat-six making 460 hp with a new six-speed sequential transmission with paddle shifters.

Thu, 28 Jul 20112012 Lexus GS to get a 2.5 litre V6 in the UK - the GS 250 The more we learn about the 2012 Lexus GS the more appealing it becomes which, considering the current GS is the most appealing driver’s car in the Lexus range, bodes well for the new GS. We know, for example, that Lexus intend the new GS to be a “…high-performance concept that can deliver an inspiring driving experience.”, which is an easy PR statement to make, but a not so easy promise to fulfil. But if early reports are anything to go by, it’s all looking rather interesting.
