The first ever Maserati to get diesel engine power, the Ghibli will go on sale in autumn 2013, and sit below the Quattroporte super-limo in the Maserati range. Maserati Ghibli: the spec All Ghiblis will be powered by Ferrari-fettled versions of Chrysler’s ‘Pentastar’ twin-turbocharged V6 engines, mounted up front and mated to eight-speed paddle-shift gearboxes.

But we do have soft spot for what Tesla are doing. That’s because Tesla has tackled the issues of electric cars in the cleverest way possible by building a car (the Model S) that looks like a normal luxury car – rather than making it look odd or quirky just to ram home its difference – and made it travel a sensible distance on a single charge.
Wayne Cherry receives Lifetime Achievement Award at EyesOn Design 2013
Mon, 08 Jul 2013Renowned car designer Wayne Cherry was honored with a Lifetime Design Achievement Award at the EyesOn Automotive Design Exhibition at the Edsel and Eleanor Ford House, Michigan. The former GM vice president of design was chosen by a panel of his fellow designers for the honor after a 42-year career with the carmaker, during which he was involved in the design of over 80 concepts and more than 90 production vehicles. Only vehicle designers who have previously won the award are allowed to vote, with this year's panel including Chris Bangle, Walter de'Silva, Tom Gale, Giorgetto Giugiaro, Chuck Jordan, Robert Lutz, Shiro Nakamura, Chuck Pelly, Sergio Pininfarina and Jack Telnack.
