Fri, 14 Aug 2009The Infiniti Essence Concept kicked off this year’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance This year’s event at Pebble Beach has kicked off with a gala dinner and the US debut of the Infiniti Essence Concept that we saw recently at the Geneva Motor Show. Much bigger than you would expect from a Japanese Coupe, the Infiniti Essence is over 15 feet long and features a 3.7 litre V6 turbo coupled with am electric motor, designed to give a whopping 590bhp. The interior of the Essence is much more Japanese than the outside.

In the Jan. 3, 1983, issue of Autoweek, we previewed a different take on the pony car -- one that promised "visual subtlety with unsubtle performance." By creating an online record that insurance companies can easily check, ministers and the Driver and Vehicle Licencing Agency (DVLA) expect insurance costs to fall, as insurers will be able to exactly analyse risk rather than hedging their bets.
