The “Real Drivers” series from hittingredline.com takes a look at interesting cars and their equally interesting owners. These aren't always crazy exotics or 1,000-hp pavement-burners (though sometimes they are), but we found this particular episode about a 1985 Ford Mustang GT drag racer owned by a man named Michael Murphy a real heart-string tugger. Murphy bought the 'Stang for $1,500 with thoughts of having a cool street car.

There's no denying Peter Schreyer has been instrumental in turning around Kia's image from a manufacturer of wheeled white goods in a creator of design-led products. Now his attention turns to sister company Hyundai in his role as chief design officer for both companies and his plans are no less ambitious. "More than a designer of products I wish to be an architect of Hyundai's brand image," he told an audience at Hyundai's European headquarters, explaining how his job is not simply 'styling' but communicating the brand's message right down to details such as the seatbelt warning buzzer.

Formula E HQ set for Donington

THE NEW global all-electric racing car series Formula E is to have its headquarters at England’s Donington Park circuit. Construction of the multi-million pound facility has started, with a view to making the facility the home of testing and development for the series’ battery-powered cars. There will be ‘state-of-the-art’ facilities for all 10 Formula E teams as well as workshops, offices and stores.
