Gates new G-Force™ belts are the first of a new generation of Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) belts.

G-Force drive belts deliver proven results for today’s recreational and utility all-terrain equipment. Designed for superior fit, performance and durability, G-Force requires zero clutching adjustments at installation. Whether trail riding, farming, ranching or extreme riding, G-Force belts are engineered for demanding off-road conditions. Just drop in a G-Force belt and be on your way for work or play.

G-Force belts have been thoroughly tested both on the track in extreme racing conditions and in the lab and have excelled in performance and durability. Manufactured from aramid reinforced cords, this belt encompasses a top notch configuration allowing for maximum flexibility and heat dissipation. Developed for extreme torture, G-Force belts feature an advanced adhesion gum used to reduce edge-cord pull out and proprietary technology to assure exact fitment. Manufactured by Gates.

Gates has developed proprietary design equipment and software that work together to create belts that are a precise fit to the OE. Not a consolidation of sizes – the exact same fit. Using Profiler VT™, Gates state-of-the-art 2-D laser profilometer together with Gates PTWorks measuring software, profile characteristics and specifications are identified including belt length, width, pitch, thickness and angle. The data from Profile VT is fed into PTWorks where it is analyzed and compared to test results, which ensure that G-Force belts meet the same shift characteristics, speed ratios, durability and vehicle performance requirements as the OE belt.

Developed by the Leader in Belt Innovation and Technology,
Gates G-Force Belts Feature:

  • Dynamometer testing proves G-Force belts outlast other high-performance belts by as much as 5 times*
  • Equivalent OE performance and durability at a reduced cost
  • OE constructed drop-in belt with no clutching adjustments
  • Tested under extreme conditions in controlled environments as well as race vehicles
  • Matches OE belt shift curves and pulley speed ratios
  • Advanced aramid tensile cords and reinforced fiber loaded undercord are used in construction for durability and dependability
  • Proprietary measuring technology assures exact fit
  • Construction utilizes double and single cog configurations to match OEM belt designs maximizing heat control and flexibility

Audi Q5 refreshed for 2013, new engines added

Wed, 25 Apr 2012

For a mid-cycle refresh, Ingolstadt hasn't lavished a whole passel of aesthetic rearrangement upon the Audi Q5. There's some fiddling in the interior, some minor meddling with the face and, really, that's about that. The company did, however, go a bit zany in the engine bay.

The Audi A7 Sportback Leaks Out We reported last week that Audi were due to reveal the Audi A7 Sportback tomorrow (Monday) at the Pinakothek der Moderne München in Munich. With the official reveal tomorrow – and some official detail likely to drop in to our inbox sooner than that after this leak – there isn’t too much point going in to huge speculation about what’s to come.

Biker attempts to beat London marathon record... in traffic

Fri, 11 Apr 2014

AS BRITISH favourite Mo Farah prepares to challenge the British record at the London Marathon this weekend, an enterprising biker has decided to try it himself – in the thick of London traffic. On closed roads a man vs machine race would be a bit one-sided, but with the average speed of a fast marathon runner being 12.43mph and the average speed of a motorbike in London traffic being 12.5mph, the result turned out not to be so clear-cut – the biker missing out on the record by a full five minutes. Using the same BMW F800GS Adventure as is loaned to the marathon organisers, Michael Mann of online community Bike Social followed the route as closely as possible, albeit with a few extra loops where the runners will take advantage of closed one-way streets.
