2012 Mercedes SL 65 AMG at New York Auto Show?
Tue, 13 Mar 2012Are Mercedes planning a new SL 65 AMG (old model pictured) It looks like Mercedes-Benz has decided that the world still needs a V12 SL and are planning to reveal the 2012 Mercedes SL65 AMG at next month’s New York Auto Show. As you can’t have failed to notice, with a few exceptions from Italy, big cylinder engines are on the way out in favour of more efficient, and more frugal, forced induction engines with fewer cylinders. Vauxhall Adam price from £11,255: Paris 2012
Thu, 27 Sep 2012The Vauxhall Adam – Vauxhall and Opel’s MINI competitor – will start from £11,255 when it goes on sale in January 2013. And with prices announced from £11,255 it looks like the Adam may just have a fighting chance of taking a piece of the market dominated by MINI and the Fiat 500. Of course, GM are hoping that no one who goes in to a Vauxhall showroom will go out with a basic car – a vast array of style and customisation options are the order of the day with the Adam – but the headline starting point is a decent one.
Porsche threatens to pull Boxster production from Magna
Fri, 25 Sep 2009Porsche is considering canceling an existing contract with Magna to build the next-generation Boxster and Cayman in Austria starting in 2013 and may instead move production to Karmann in Germany. The move would be aimed at protecting Porsche's closely guarded engineering and production cost secrets for its upcoming entry-level roadster and coupe. Porsche insiders say plans established under former boss Wendelin Weideking to build the Boxster and the Cayman at Magna's Graz factory in Austria are now being heavily reviewed following the Canadian/Austrian company's bid to take control of financially embattled Opel from General Motors.
