Thu, 15 Aug 2013Infiniti has recruited Simon Cox as design director at its Infiniti Design London studio, which is currently Nissan Design Europe. He will report directly to Infiniti executive design director Alfonso Albaisa. The new appointment comes as Infiniti attempts to evolve its design strategy by establishing new dedicated design studios, of which the London Paddington studio is the first.

It was an interesting qualifying for the 2012 Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona, with McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton taking pole position from the Williams of Pastor Maldonado. But it was all for nought for the McLaren.

Called HED-6, the Hyundai soft-roader is the work of its European design team and the sleek wedgy styling is a world away from the bulbous and anonymous looks of the current Tucson. We should see the final production version at the Frankfurt motorshow in the autumn.
