Polyester Material Info:
Polyester resins are the most commonly used matrix in the marine and composite industry. These resins are styrene-based, flammable and catalyzed when combined with Methyl Ethyl Ketone Peroxide(MEKP). When working with these resins in large projects it is advised to use gloves and a chemical respirator to protect yourself from the fumes. These resins can be used with any type of fiberglass, carbon fiber or kevlar, as well as used over urethane foam and other sandwich core materials.

Polyester GP Resin is general purpose polyester resin. Contain wax. Amounts of MEKP to use denpens on your working time. You can  slow it down for more work time, or speeded up for less work time.  But cannot add below 1/2%  or exceed 2%.  of  MEKP. Must be mixed thoroughly for a minimum of 2 minutes. Work time is 15-25 minutes at approx 77 degrees Fahrenheit with 1 %. Complete cure 45 minutes to 3 hours. Do not use below 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Can be brushed, rolled, or sprayed. Resin Consumption: 2 parts resin, 1 part glass, by weight. Remove air with a Bubble Buster Roller. May recoat within 24 hours by sanding the surface. Is not UV stabilized and should be coated with a gel coat with wax . Resin may be thinned with styrene by adding no more than 10% by volume. A fillers ( Cab o sil or Qcell ) may be add to make putty. May add up to 4% pigment, by volume, for coloring. Clean up with acetone.

North American automakers are struggling with a nagging shortage of tires, caused in part by tire plant closings and rising demand for low-volume specialty tires. Automakers are paying much higher prices -- double-digit percentage increases from a year ago -- as tire makers gain pricing power. "We have been bombarded from every side for additional tires, and we can't keep up," said David O'Donnell, Continental Tire's vice president of original equipment in the Americas.
