Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE (2010) Review & Road Test
Sun, 25 Apr 2010We Road Test the 2010 Range Rover Sport – on and off road It’s a remarkable 40 years this year since Land Rover introduced the world to its first luxury 4×4 – the Range Rover – and changed the car landscape forever. And despite many pretenders to its throne the Range Rover is still the ultimate SUV, and probably the only luxury 4×4 that is as at home in a field as it is on the Kings Road. But by the time the Range Rover passed its thirtieth birthday and we moved in to a new millennium it started to see challenges to its throne from more road-oriented SUVS.
LSE shows the Range Rover Sport ‘Tiret’ Coupe
Fri, 27 Mar 2009A bespoke version of the LSE Range Rover Sport Coupe - The Tiret Coupe - currently on show at the Baselworld Show in Switzerland The LSE Coupe is not quite as radical as the original Stormer Concept, but it goes a good way to addressing the style issues that surround the Land Rover version of the car; the LSE is certainly more individual. Powered by either the regular 4.2 supercharged lump (or the TDV8 as an option), the standard S/C lump can be tweaked to deliver either 480bhp or 520bhp. But even the regular S/C in the LSE comes with a tweaked ECU to deliver more power and torque than the standard unit.
SEAT lets the train take the strain
Mon, 19 Jan 2009SEAT by Train from the Martorell Factory to the Port of Barcelona The building of this project started in 2005 - a joint venture between SEAT and Autometro – as an innovative way to transport cars from the factory to the port, and has made a big difference to the traffic on Catalan roads in that time, taking more than 20,000 lorries off the roads and racking up a big saving in SEAT’s carbon footprint. Throughout 2008 the rail link transported cars on twice daily runs on double-decker carriages over 400 metres long, carrying more than 170 cars at a time. Try doing that on the roads!
