This auction is for a Donnelly auto-dimming rear view mirror that will actually fit a wide variety of cars, as most domestic cars have a universal sized window mounting button. It should fit the Pontiac Grand Prix SE, GT, GTP, GTX, McLaren Turbo, Daytona, Special and 40th Anniversary Editions, Chevy Impala LTZ and SS, Monte Carlo SS Intimidator and Dale Earnhardt, Lincoln LS, etc. Basically, if your car came with a mirror that has auto dimming that looks like this one, and the picture of the windshield mount below looks similar to yours, it should fit.  Even if car didn't get a mirror with any extra features at all, don't worry.  It's actually rather easy to wire one of these mirrors into any car.  Just three wires; one to a +12v source that comes on with ignition or accessories, one wire grounded (negative), and IF you want to bother wiring it (most people don't), one wire tapped into the reverse line to disable the auto-dimming feature when the car is put in reverse.  I have included the harness with a generous length of wire for just such purposes, and will ID the wires for the buyer.

**This mirror uses the updated 7-pin harness design. If your Grand Prix (or any car for that matter) is a 2000 or older, you most likely have the older 3-pin harness. You can still use this, but you will need to pull the wires out of your current 3-pin harness, and install them in the same exact order from right to left (with the mirror facing you) into the newer 7-pin harness that will be provided with your purchase. It's actually very easy to do (have done 4 myself for customers).**

This is an excellent replacement if your Donnelly mirror is broken/leaking, which they're prone to doing.  If you can see the gel broken inside, it's best to replace the mirror right away, as the liquid/gel eventually leaks out of the mirror itself and onto the center console.  When that happens, it can actually eat at the paint/plastic of the center console.  Don't wait for that to happen!

Determining part fitment and compatibility is the sole responsibility of the buyer/bidder! There are no refunds or exchanges for "oops, I got the wrong part/this part doesn't work on my car", so please look over the parts carefully, and compare any part numbers in the pictures below with yours, or contact a dealer to verify this part will work on your car.



Condition

This part is in overall very good condition, which is a rarity for a Donnelly mirror due to them being prone to breaking and leaking out the fluid/gel inside. There are no cracks, breaks, leaks or major blemishes to the case, base or mirror on this one.  This mirror has been TESTED, and works perfectly.  The auto-dimming responds very well/quickly.  The only problem I could find with it is the auto-dimming feature doesn't respond to the on/off button.  It stays on at all times regardless of pressing the button. However, this shouldn't be an issue, as there's no point to having an auto-dimming mirror if you're going to shut it off.  I would rate this item an 8/10.
