Lamborghini 50th Anniversary Car: The tease begins – sort of (video)
Wed, 02 Jan 2013With the promise of a new car to celebrate 50 years, Lamborghini is ramping up interest in its half century anniversary with a history and tease video. With 2013 seeing the 50th Anniversary of Lamborghini’s arrival as a maker of supercars, we have the promise of a new car to celebrate the occasion. Last month Lamborghini boss, Stephan Winkelmann, confirmed that Sant’Agata would be rolling out a new car to celebrate the 50th anniversary, but what we don’t yet know is what that new model will be.
Honda Civic saloon, coupe at the 2011 Detroit show
Mon, 10 Jan 2011Honda showed off two new Civics at the NAIAS 2011: the Civic Si Concept Coupe and the Civic Concept Saloon. They're sadly US-market only, rather than related to the European spec models, themselves up for replacement at the end of 2011. Although 'concepts', these two effectively show what will roll into US showrooms in spring 2011. The blurb is pretty strict on the difference between the American and Euro Civics: 'The Civic Si coupe and saloon Concepts are US-only design and will not be sold in the UK.
Ownership costs of traditional versus alternative fuel vehicles
Mon, 04 Feb 2013As gas prices remain high, and an increasing number of automakers roll out plug-in hybrid cars and full-electric vehicles, it's becoming easier to be tantalized with the idea of driving right past the gas station and simply "plugging in." The debate ensues when it comes to cost: These alternative fuel vehicles mean a larger outlay of cash at the onset, but the long-term fuel savings could make the purchase worthwhile. To help straighten out this numbers game, we use the Department of Energy's Vehicle Cost Calculator to compare alternative fuel vehicles with their gasoline-only counterparts. For each scenario, we assumed that our hypothetical owner was able to get the full $7,500 federal tax credit and a $2,500 state tax credit, such as is available in California.
