I currently have a Speedster in my shop for a similar tonneau project and it is shown here as a finished item. It is not part of this offer. Having a Speedster in the shop enables me to check fit. This is a durable substantial part, hand fabricated by traditional methods in .063 aluminum, -that's a sixteenth of an inch thick. It has all welded seams "reflowed" on the backside for over 100% weld penetration and extra strength. These tonneau's are unique items that really individualize a car. These cars are "scene stealers"! This offer is for the "raw" unpainted/primed alloy piece shown. I'm including the primed pics as it is easier to see the basic form with a flat uniform coating, and the first and last pics show a finished installed piece. I've been a source for these for over thirty-five years. I figure each one might be my last at my age! I will also say that they are a lot of work, and this is where you start.This panel once fitted, is easily removed and installed. No holes are drilled in the car and no damage to its surroundings from this panel. This tonneau has been (initially) fitted but its adjustable "joggled edge" needs to be tipped or "tuned" to the individual car, and surfaces smoothed and painted. A matching upholstered "pillow" is fitted at the front of the nacelle to cushion the drivers head. I also suggest a cushioning black plastic or fabric/cord welting fitted to the underside of its perimeter to keep from scuffing the paint, and hiding minor discrepancies in fit/gap. Bracketing and mounting tags will be part of your task. This is designed for quick release Dzus fasteners, on brackets at either side, at the lower front top bow pivot points. Thu, 05 Aug 2010Saab's new Dutch owner, Spyker Cars NV, intends to spin additional models off its new Phoenix platform after it yields a redesigned Saab 9-3. Saab dealers will receive the latest 9-3 in 2012, Spyker founder and Saab Automobile AB Chairman Victor Muller said Thursday at the CAR Management Briefing Seminars in Traverse City, Mich. The dealers, who have been starved for product as former owner General Motors attempted to sell or liquidate the brand, also will obtain a Cadillac-based 9-4X crossover when it goes into production in April 2011 in Mexico.
