With BIK rates set based on CO2 emissions and list price, it’s hard to find a way to beat the system. Even opting for a diesel car doesn’t help because, despite much better economy on the whole from diesels than petrol engined cars, HMRC adds an extra 3% to your BIK rate because diesels emit more of the stuff that matters – particulates and NOx – than a petrol-engined car.

2009 EyesOn Design Awards

The winners at the fourth annual EyesOn Design Awards held at the 2009 NAIAS in Detroit last week read like a serving of alphabet soup, with the top awards going to Audi, BMW and Cadillac. Presided over by 20 top design executives from automotive manufacturers and by academics from transportation design programs, the EyesOn Design awards are presented by the Detroit Institute of Ophthalmology (DIO) - an internationally recognized non-profit organization known for helping the blind and visually impaired. Kia Sedona suits up for New York auto show

Kia teased its new Sedona minivan on Thursday, a week before it debuts at the New York auto show.
